Man With Spirit

I am man with spirit
I am a man with mind
Along the path, they were a different kind

My eyes took messages they were trained to see.
To a solemn conscience that would disagree.

My eyes were spoiled, cajoled and teased.
My appetite was whetted in a frozen sea.

I can't take that. I never will.
I'll bend over backwards till my insides spill.

I built new values. They were all my own.
The other's loss, I will not bemoan.

I'll build new lights that will help me see.
My own reflections will let me be.

The hunger inside, I will not abide.
It was put there by the other side

I can't take that. I never will.
I'll bend over backwards till my insides spill

My spirit is strong. My heart beats loud.
I feel it in the guts, the overwhelming crowd.

My body's a parrot. I can speak in tongues.
The effort of unloading, restores my lungs.

I can't take that. I never will.
I'll bend over backwards till my insides spill.

Everything is beautiful. There's nothing that was born that wasn't born to kill.
The temple is the ruin it was supposed to be.
Nature's way has sovereignty. I can't take that.

I never will.
I'll bend over backwards till my insides spill.
